The original songs were totally destroyed. Totally disappointed. What a waste. These mixes all have the same too fast beat. Every track sounds like repeticious robot music. Buy the original LP on CD instead. Be wary of re-recordings done by the artist years after the original masterpieces.
HEX HECTOR, JUNIOR VASQUEZ, JONATHAN PETERS, PLASMIC HONEY.NEED WE SAY MORE.WELL MAY BE A THUNDERPUSS MIX IS MISSING.
I started out writing this little description of each track and remix. It's a must have for dance music fans, fans of classic 80's hits, and of course, fans of the fierce Diva Shannon. But decided to scrap it when it all ended up sounding the same.all of these mixes are hot and fierce and should not be passed up. I love the Junior mixes (regardless of what anyone says, they are fab, ok)., and the mixes by Plasmic Honey (get me fan)., Hex (making it a sauna)., DJ Fuma, Jonathan Peters (Not boring - fun and animalistic)., and Jodi. Don't miss out. You'll be sorry you did.
However, it seems a lot of money has been squandered upon superfluous mixes that merely detract from the classic original. The best thing about this CD which features two remixed classics from days of yore is the Plasmic Honey remix of "Let The Music Play" - it's absolutely amazing, sounding a lot like Johnny Vicious' material. Junior Vasquez once again proves he's only in it for the money, turning out two bland and uninteresting mixes that show a distinct lack of both imagination and creativity. The other highlights of this E.P. are the excerpts from Shannon's LP "The Best Is Yet To Come" and the Hex Hector mix of "Give Me Tonight". Similarly, the Jonathan Peters mix of "Give Me Tonight" is absolutely horrendous, the vocals totally out of key from the Vasquezesque backing track - it's a total mess. Such poor attempts at remixing remain overshadowed by the awesome effort demonstrated by Plasmic Honey, proving that they're a name to watch in the future.
